Online Poker 5 Card Stud Rules

5 Card Stud poker is another popular variation of poker, although not as popular as other poker games in most poker rooms. It plays just like 7 card stud poker, but with only one face down card "hole card" dealt to each player to start, and four streets of face up cards totaling 5 cards dealt to each player.

How 5 Card Stud is played
|
| 1 |
Each player antes up for the hand about to be dealt. The amount of the ante depends on the table limit at which you play.

One
card is dealt face down to each player followed by 1 card face
up (2 cards total to begin).

The first round of betting begins with the player with the highest card showing.

| 4 |
After the first round of betting, another card is dealt face up to each player.
|
| 5 |
There is the another round of betting.
|
| 6 |
Another card is dealt face up to each player.
|
| 7 |
There is another round of betting,
with the betting limits typically doubled during this
round.

| 8 |
The last card is dealt face up to each player that bets.
|
| 9 |
The final round of betting begins and the player with the highest hand wins the pot.
